We are excited to announce that Snowdrift Farm Founder, Trina Wallace and her husband Bill will be our keynote speakers and guests for the 2009 ASA Meeting! A veteran cold process soap, lotion maker and perfumist, Trina will talk about what it means to open and operate a body care or supply business: how and where to start, the responsibilities involved and how to feed the creative process. Trina attended Ithaca College (NY) School of Music and Hofstra University (NY), studying voice and applied music. She has always been artistically creative. Trina’s love of cold process soapmaking began in 1990, when she left Corporate America and moved to Maine. In addition to founding SnowdriftFarm.com, Inc. in 1996, Trina has years of experience in large batch soapmaking and recipe writing, soliciting wholesale accounts, packaging soaps and toiletries and moving a business cross-country in 5 days. She is the Managing Director of SnowdriftFarm.com, Inc.
Bill will address the group with his view of the FDA Globalization Act and the importance of creating and maintaining Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Bill holds a BSc in Chemistry from Colorado State University, Fort Collins and hails from a long line of chemists and chemistry professors. You could say it’s in his blood! Bill worked for Barnes-Hind as a contact lens research and development chemist for 15 years before shifting his focus to environmental chemistry and working for the State of Maine as a chemist and hazmat remediator for 12 years. Bill joined Trina at SDF in 1999 and is currently the VP of Research and Development.
